We're both full-time working mamas who each welcomed 3 babies in 4 years. Despite being self-proclaimed Type A, overachieving planners, we found ourselves asking, "Why didn't anyone tell us about this?!" far too often as new mamas. With complementary backgrounds in both the healthcare and the business industries, we teamed up to create a company dedicated to transforming the experience women have in motherhood. For us, that starts with empowering pregnant women with everything we wish we would have known the first time around, so they can prepare better, stress less, and enjoy more.
As an Advanced Practice Nurse, I’ve participated in hundreds of births and supported brand new mamas through the breastfeeding and personal self-care journey following delivery. I've witnessed these women simultaneously overcome with joy and utterly blindsided -- by the reality of their physical recovery needs and the weight of their new responsibilities. I’ve seen far too many new moms leave the hospital totally unprepared for navigating life after labor and delivery, and that needs to change. I bring my nursing expertise and personal experience to the Mama in the Making Program to do just that.
Outside of my nursing career, you can find me in an early morning barre class or volunteering in my daughters' classrooms. Catch me on the weekends out to dinner with my hubby or taking our girls (ages 6, 4, and 2) to the pool!
As a former Sales Executive for Google, I balanced the births of three babies with business travel, speaking engagements & client deadlines. Surprised by the number of scenarios I was unprepared for, I become passionate about arming other mamas-to-be with the strategies, solutions, and perspectives I wish I would have known the first time around. In addition to leading Google Detroit's Women@ community, I became certified as a New and Expectant Parent Guru, helping hundreds of Google employees prepare for the transition into parenthood and craft a custom return-to-work plan. I’ve curated the strategies, systems, and "hacks" that successful working women at Google use to navigate the transition to motherhood and thrive in balancing baby with career, and I've shared them all inside Mama In The Making!
Outside of the corporate world, my claim to fame is delivering my third baby, Mikey... at home... by myself... unplanned! My three littles are now 5, 4, and 2, and in addition to getting my feet wet in school activities (hello, Lunch Lady!) I never miss a weekly date night with my hubby!
